Founder of SENSEcity

A graduate thesis became an award-winning studio creating augmented-reality experiences for cultural and heritage destinations.
Pooja Katara moved from Mumbai to Scotland to study Architecture at GSA. At graduation she received the Chair’s Medal in recognition of her outstanding master’s thesis project.
Pooja used that thesis as the starting point for SENSEcity, an experience design studio she founded in 2018. Based in Glasgow, the studio creates visitor experiences for cultural and heritage destinations around the UK using augmented-reality technology.
The SENSEcity team has showcased its work at South by Southwest in Austin, Texas, and received awards from organisations including Innovate UK, Scottish EDGE and Tech Nation.
Now part of Glasgow’s Smart Things Accelerator Centre, SENSEcity has worked with collaborators including Historic Environment Scotland, City Sightseeing and Brighton Dome & Brighton Festival.
